Parking Métier
Spurred by business owners seeking to reduce both auto traffic and the number of bikes cluttering their storefronts, cycling haven Portland, Oregon, has begun converting curbside car spots into on–street bike parking. The taxpayer–funded racks are blocked off by yellow curbs and can hold 20 bikes in the space of one car. Added bonus: That's one less car door bikers will have to worry about.
